Who we are

This site belongs to the Teacher Development Special Interest Group (TDSIG) of BRAZ-TESOL. We decide what is collected here and why. Questions and requests: tdsig@braztesol.org.br.

What we keep, and why

Badges: your name and email, to issue the badge and send it to you. The badge itself is a signed, public credential at the address we send you.

Live sessions and events: your name, email and whether you are a member, to confirm your place, send reminders and, if you attended, your certificate or badge.

Newsletter: your name and email, only after you confirm by clicking the link we send. We may record whether each email was delivered and opened.

Member's area: your email, to send you a one-time sign-in link and check your BRAZ-TESOL membership.

Sponsors' Challenge: your name, email, professional profile and answers. Your name and email go to the sponsors only if you tick the box that authorises it.

Scholarship applications: the information on the form, including any accessibility needs and income bracket you choose to tell us. Applications that are not selected are erased after the date shown on the form.

Sponsorship requests: your name, email and message, to answer you.

How we protect it

Names, emails and other personal fields are encrypted in our database. Only the TDSIG team, signing in with a password and an authentication code, can read them.

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies keep you signed in.

Who else handles it

Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Resend (sending email), Slack (internal notices to the team, which can include the name of a raffle winner) and Google (only when we import an attendance list you sent us through a form). They process data on our behalf and only for these purposes.

How long we keep it

For as long as it serves the purpose above: badges stay valid so you can keep showing them; newsletter data until you unsubscribe; scholarship data until the date on the form; sign-in links for 90 days at most.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we keep about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Write to tdsig@braztesol.org.br from the email address in question. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe.

If you ask us to erase your data, badges already issued stay valid but without your name.
