Applications for the Debora Schisler Scholarship are open

This year, one TD SIG member has the chance to win a scholarship for to the 23rd BRAZ-TESOL International Conference in Foz do Iguaçu, in July 2027, with the TD SIG covering the trip. That is what the Debora Schisler Scholarship is for, and applications are open now.

What the scholarship covers:

• •Travel and accommodation, up to R$ 3,000, booked and paid by us: your round trip to Foz and five nights there, 12 to 17 July 2027.
• •Your conference registration.
• •A year of BRAZ-TESOL membership.

What we ask in return: the scholar is our Roving Reporter at the conference, sits for a Staffroom Podcast interview, runs an Echo Session to share what they learned, and writes about the experience for the TD SIG.

Who can apply: BRAZ-TESOL members in good standing who have been TD SIG members for at least four months.

How to apply: everything happens in the Members’ Area. The heart of the application is a motivation letter of 500 to 800 words about what this conference will change in your practice and how you will share it with other teachers. The committee reads the letters without names.

Key dates:

• •Applications: until 30 October 2026
• •Evaluation: 31 October to 18 November
• •Result: 20 November 2026
